Welcome to our farm in Lhotka near Telč, which on this location exists for more than 400 years. The farmhouse got its present shape during the renovations by our great-great grandfather Jan. He was forced to undertake these building activities, because on September the 12th of 1931 a fire destroyed all the buildings, stocks and agricultural machines. With the construction of two completely new barns an enclosed courtyard was created.

In 1957, when our great grandfather Oldřich had paid off the debts, the communists announced: “we are going to take over now”. They farmed until 1989, and I am afraid that I have to admit that even today, in some parts of the buildings, the results of their “managing” can still be seen.

Since 1995 the farm has become a family enterprise, run by myself (Peter Novák, farmer both by birth and by education), by my wife Dana, my parents and my brother Pavel.

Spring uses to be marvellous...

One part of the house has been renovated for guests who come here to stay. A barn contigues with the main wing has been converted into guest rooms, including an entrance hall / sitting room. Available are 5 rooms on the first and second floor.

These parts of the house are centrally heated by fragrant wood from our own forests. Because of the experiences of 1931 and with regard to the wooden ceilings, no smoking is allowed in the house.

For those guests, who prefer to sleep under their own roof, we have created some services in another part of the farmbuildings. In the orchard behind the farm, about 10 tents and 5 caravans can be put up. Their inhabitants can make use of the mentioned services, ie. of electricity, of the bathrooms, toilets, kitchen for washing dishes, refrigerator and of the ping-pong table.

... but also winter has its beauty.

Because in the countryside there should be animals, we have a lot of sheep grazing the meadows behind our house. In the orchard between those meadows and the house, where also the tents and caravans stay, guests are allowed to pick as many cherries as they need. There are also a copse, a football field and a volleyball field (under construction). A few hunderd yards further one finds some lakes and ponds, of which several are our property. They are suitable for swimming and to a certain extent also for fishing. And then there are extensive woods with mushrooms, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and animals.

Walks in the immediate surroundings of our village always form an unforgettable experience... the broad views over the landschape, the large amount of small, interesting details and the local culinary specialities offered in the pub.
